A man after my own heart
Tonight I read about Randy Pausch. I love his philosophy on life. He died of cancer recently, but it never slowed him down. I can remember my father being the same way in his last year. He knew it was coming but was determined to live life anyway. He even went so far as to shave his head before he started Chemo so that he was the one in charge that. Living with the cancer was just a fact of it. I loved my father very much and to remember him to this day brings a smile. His favorite song, like Randy's, was "Time in a Bottle" for years it made me cry. I spent a long time being an Eyeore, although I'm really a Tigger inside. Most people would tell you that I never grew up. Well, why do we have to? Life is better with play, love, kids. Life is what you want it to be. We are each the masters of our own fate. I may have spent a lot of my time "playing" but I've enjoyed my life, met some of the most interesting people, and followed my dreams. My brother tells me best, "I love you NO MATTER WHAT." Why can't more people feel that way?

On the Strange and Unusual
I follow the news. The news on the internet, not the TV. This gives me a lot more flexibility in looking at what I am interested in, and news you won't hear on the television. Lately I've found all sorts of fascinating articles tucked away in out of the way places. I thought, "why not bring them all together in one place" So I decided here would be the best place for it. I hope you enjoy this changing planet as much as I do.
Of course there is the story of the woman who had her dead dog "Booger" cloned. 5 times.
too bad she is Wanted in Tennessee
I have also been following the progression of Mutations forming within the human race.
This man appears to be turning into a tree. Reminds me of Justin Tree in Xanth.
There are women with half male DNA
This fellow is one of a few who naturally grow facial hair. All over the face.
This child was born with three arms.
This girl also had extra limbs.
Twelve fingers and 13 toes.
And with all that to think about this lady's ability somehow bothers me.
I don't intend for this to be a "freak show" and please don't post if that is what you are going to imply. I am simply taking note of how this world is changing more rapidly than ever in history. I will be covering climate change and other areas of interest as time goes by. Thanks for stopping by.

Spring
Well the much anticipated Spring season is here, in Ohio. I love spring here particularly because everybody has had to survive the lingering winter for so long, that spring puts them in a great mood. Everybody! Just to be outside in short sleeves, every person you drive by with their windows rolled down. Those small things make all the difference in disposition. I think winter makes you appreciate the pretty seasons even more.
Our new neighbors are from Florida (or so reads their license plates, nobody knows their neighbors here..) but we caught them during the blizzard making the most awesome snowman. He is featured here.

I was wondering
I'm new to the blogging community. I thought I'd give it a go after running across Jorge Garcia's 'Dispatches from the Island.' Maybe someone out there will enjoy what I have to say.
I'm a classic Pisces.
Dreaming, creating, wishing, the whole bit.
I'm a gamer and a reader. I don't even have cable tv.
I watch the few shows that capture my interest on the internet. I also get my news there. I can keep myself from drowning in bad news by a quick look at the days headlines and by reading only the ones that interest me.
I love to play and create. Some would say I'm like a big kid at times. I have toys, Legos, Play-doh, construction paper, board games and card games galore. Even a classic Fat Albert coloring book (among others). I keep stuff around to spark my creativity. I used to draw and want to get back in to it sometime soon...I also love to hang out with kids. Not in a creepy 'Neverland' sort of way. Kids, they really know how to have fun! And watch out- that 9y/o you just challenged to Guitar Hero is about to kick your arse. The kids these days totally rule at video games!
I will leave you, today, with a construction paper creation of myself (in red) and two of my friends...perhaps...if we were Canadian.

Oh, and what I was wondering was...Did Yoda play the Saxaphone?
Peace, Robin
